Character lineup

Righto - here's a brief rundown of the main characters to this little story which may or may not ever actually see the light of day. Ahahaha....most of these were done as study breaks during finals.

General In their world, physical power is transferred directly from parent to child. Thus, the more powerful the parent, the more powerful the child. Power in this society functions in a similar manner to class in other societies where parents do not allow their children to marry into less powerful families than them and less powerful families are always trying to marry into more powerful families, etc etc… Lan and Bite are from a very powerful family, however because they were born as twins, the power that should have gone to a single child was distributed unevenly between the twins. In this case, most of the power went to Bite, leaving Lan a with a very low level power. Despite this, growing up Lan showed no sign of resentment and nothing but total adoration for her “older sister”. Mmmm...despite being the "main character", Lan is most definitely a follower and conformist and believer in the status quo...because her parents tell her to be. Bite is a leader.

General Bite, having received the majority of the power from both Lan and Bite’s parents, had the potential to be a demi-god – very powerful indeedy. However, despite the severe class-like restrictions of the society and being born into a “good guy” affiliated family, Bite rebelled and went to the other side. As a symbol of her new allegiance, she gave up her feet. As part of the summoned class, Bite operates at the whim of her summoner, a very power magus name Liza. She was given her “boots” as a reward from Liza, who admired Bite’s scheming mind. Despite the fact that her situation is little more than glorified imprisonment, Bite appears indifferent to current state, and enjoys the boosted range of dark arts and magics that working with Liza has put at her disposal. Her actual relationship with her sister is rather dysfunctional, as Bite alternately takes turns tormenting, helping, and generally confusing the hell out of Lan. She is manipulative, a schemer, and there is pretty much nothing that anyone could do that would surprise her.

General Like Lan and Bite, Abelard comes from a very powerful family. Knights are the highest class of Fighters and are charged with maintaining Order and Stability within the society. The Armor they wear is sentient and grows as the Knight grows (ie – the more skills and abilities a Knight learns in training, the more powerful and intelligent the Armor becomes). However, early on in his years out of Academy and into real Knighthood, half of Abelard’s Armor was eaten in an attack by a dragon-like beastie, which should have killed Abelard. Abelard survived, although the damage to his Armor left it in a dormant state and forced him out of the revered Knight class and into one which he made up himself - Knight errant. Most of the worst damage to his Armor was to the left side, which is where Abelard is most badly scarred and where he is missing the most Armor. He is currently seeking to find the missing fragments of his Armor to restore its sentience, his position in the Knight class, and his sanity. Losing his Armor has caused Abelard to exhibit somewhat schizophrenic tendencies.

General Florence is a special case in that she doesn’t follow the power (and class/type) of her parents – thus she is a Wild type. (Her parents are actually Scholar types). As a Berserker class, she is exceptionally powerful – a definite rival to Bite. However, Florence’s body is not equipped to deal with the stress of the power inherent in a Berserker (because she was MEANT to be a Scholar type) and thus her power is very erratic and uncontrollable. She is a very introverted and quiet, although caring girl – in another world, she might have been less-than usual hyperactive magical girl. X3 Over the course of their journey, Abelard pledges his Oath as a Knight to protect her. <33

General Technically, as a summoned class, Bite does not warrant subordinates. However, her summoner made an exception in her case and gave Pandora to her as a subordinate. Panda-chan is Bite’s nickname to her, which causes her no small amount of grief. Pandora alternates between blind devotion and absolute fear towards Bite. Bite is probably the most emotionally stable and intimate person you've ever met– as a result, she knows how to manipulate others very well. Pandora proves no exception, and Bite demands nothing but unconditional loyalty from her.

Aaaarrrgh. Sorry if that made no sense at all but its late and I'm tired and I'm going to bed and this would be about a bajillion times longer if I actually wrote out everything that I wanted to.
